Q: Where can I fund a list of campus resources?

Q: How can I apply for graduate travel funding?

Students are eligible to apply for a maximum of $400 per financial year of July 1 through June 30 (special approval from the graduate director is required for an amount over $400), for travel to conferences when the student is presenting a paper. Funding is also available for discussants and any listed participation on the conference program at the discretion of the grad program directors. The exact amount funded will be based on allowable expenses--most typically, conference registration, airfare, ground transportation, and lodging, but not including meals or food purchases.

Students are eligible to receive a maximum of $400 from the Anthropology Department, in support of research and travel over the course of the MSTS program in the School of Social Sciences.

Students may seek supplemental funding other external sources, not to exceed the total cost of each conference trip less the Anthropology Department contribution. The total amount of funding received from departmental, School, campus or external sources cannot exceed the total cost of the student's conference/research trip. Students requesting research and travel funding are required to be fully-enrolled both during the conference quarter, and when the funding request is submitted.

Q: Am I allowed to take an additional independent study course?
A:
Yes, you may take an additional independent study course. In order to do so, you must make a request with rational and submit to the Graduate Director.

Q: How do I substitute a course for a core MSTS course?
A:

 Q: How do I take an additional Anthro 299 (Independent Study)
A:

Q: Is the honors option possible for MSTS students?
A: Yes! You can do the optional master's with honors paper, but must still take the year end examination. Please see the Master's in MSTS site for more details.

Q: Am I allowed to enroll in the Fall Anthro 215A Ethnographic Methods course?

Yes!

Q: Can I be a TA?
A:
Though MSTS students are not guaranteed a TA position, MSTS students are assigned a TA appointment on an ad hoc basis. You should submit a TA request at the appropriate time.
